Today I am celebrating the first post to my new blog! I am excited because this is the next step for me toward becoming a professional writer.
This afternoon things were not going well for me. I learned a valuable lesson though. From now on, when I have edited and rewritten a project for the umpteenth time in a row, I am going to have faith in the ability God gave me and stop editing. I am going to submit my project, whether it be a contest entry or submission to a editor, when I believe I have done all to make it as good as I know how. That way, I cannot use editing as an excuse for not submitting.
I am also going to remember that my family is not my sounding board for all my projects. I drove my poor family crazy today asking for advice and opinions about my contest entry.
I have a lot of wonderful information to share about the craft of writing and as I learn more I will post it here in an effort to help others learn as well. I hope to include a Bible verse and my short thoughts on it every other day. I look forward to hearing what others have to say about the verses and thoughts on writing also. Please leave me a message when you're done reading it.
Bible Verse Thoughts for Today:
Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is [His] faithfulness."
It is true. Every morning, His compassion renews for us - just like a father for his child. That's how God sees us - as His little children, no matter how old we are or what we have done.
Just as we would not cast away a child who forgot to make his bed or who had a temper tantrum and broke a favored glass bowl - so God does not cast us away when we make mistakes. He remembers His love for us everyday. Not one of us is left out - no matter what we have done in the past. Every day is new. The slate is wiped clean. It is a great day to start fresh in life! Have hope for the future and place your trust in God.
